Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Prime for thinning hair

If you have arrived at this post it means you lose hair. Well, I have some good news for you: I do too, as well as many ladies who are affected by genetic factors, hormone fluctuations, medications, or pure and simple stress. Although hair loss is a totally natural process, in some cases it can be worrying (leading to bald patches and other visible conditions.) Good news is whether your hair loss is subtle or concerning, there are solutions out there.

Today I wanted to share my experience with the recently launched Blue Copper 5 Prime line by Osmotics Cosmeceuticals. Designed to promote fuller, thicker-looking hair, this line works by eliminating sebum build up and nourishing hair follicles.

The Blue Copper 5 Prime haircare line is composed of three products:

Step 1: Shampoo

Blue Copper 5 Prime Volumizing Shampoo is a sulfate-free and color-safe formula is designed to wash away the sebum from the scalp and achieve a fuller mane. With a mixture of botanicals and high-tech synthetic components, its key ingredients are Copper Peptide (to nourish and support follicular health); Decyl Glucoside and Cocamidopropyl Betaine (mild and sulfate-free cleansing agents); Panthenol (Vitamin B5 to moisture and condition while restoring shine and luster); Polyquarternium-10 (a conditioning agent to thicken hair); Beta Glucan (protects against sun-induced oxidative stress) and Vitamin E (to protect hair from environmental stress.) ($26 / 5 fl oz.)

Step 2: Conditioner

Once the scalp has been cleaned and prepared to receive the benefits of the copper peptides, the Volumizing Conditioner moisturizes intensely adding natural shine and helping the detangling process. This lightweight formula contains no heavy oils or waxes, and its main ingredients are Copper Peptide along with Panthenol (the scientific name for Vitamin B-5), rice protein and other botanicals. ($28/ 5 fl oz.)

Step 3: Serum

The Follicle Booster Serum is the third and final step of this at-home treatment. Designed to be used once a day on clean scalp with a massage, this serum promotes healthy follicles and scalp. The formula contains Copper Peptide and Baobab proteins to condition, repair and protect delicate strands to counteract the effects of UV exposure, pollution, and heat styling. ($65 / 1.7 fl oz.)

The Verdict

Let me start by saying that I have
experienced hair loss ever since I was a teenager. My crazy hormones,
along with the fact that I have always worn an extra-long mane, made me
shed tremendous quantities of hair anywhere I went. (Quite) a few years
later, I have been able to stop this tendency by using the right
products and by making sure my scalp is oxygenated and nourished
, given I
can’t control outside factors like hormones, genes, or even stress.

What
I loved about the Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Prime line is that it
concentrates on washing hair gently and effectively to do what matters
most: Nourish hair follicles with their proprietary Copper Peptides so
they grow stronger, stay attached to your scalp longer, and regrow
faster.

I tried this line once with a salon service and the results were extraordinarily good. My gazillion flyaways decided to behave (maybe due to the copper peptides or the great stylist that helped me out? I will never know!) and my hair remained clean even after day 3.

A few weeks after, I decided to give this line a try at home using it as recommended. After exactly 15 days of use, I can happily report my mane looks fuller and thicker, I find less hair clogging my poor bathroom, and overall I have the feeling my scalp (which by the way is very sensitive and allergic to sulfates, as I explained in this post) is way cleaner. However, and with regards to styling, I can’t say whether it makes hair easier to blow-dry or not simply because I prefer leaving it to air dry on its own. With a hair measuring over 1 meter in length I simply don’t have the time to straighten it. What I can say is that my natural curls seem more defined without needing additional products, and my roots have more volume, which is something I’m always looking for.

This said, I believe this line is best for people who experience a moderate problem in terms of hair shedding. If you believe your hair loss is above normal, I’d very much recommend you to visit a physician so you can rule out other health concerns. The American Academy of Dermatology can be a good start to find the right specialist.
